Business School and Why the Accreditation Matters

While attending business school, I never thought about the importance of understanding accreditation and the variations.

The accreditation that carries the most weight and is the most transferrable is the AACSB. While they are both quality certifications, they carry different standards with an attention to different things that may, or may not matter to your career goals. This is important if you ever intend to go back to school, teach above a high school level, or simply to clarify with your children one day in the effort to get the most bang for your buck.

The two most common are below:

AACSB- Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs

ACBSP- Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs

Before you leap into the next MBA program become familiar with the differences of these and what makes the most sense for your career goals.
